PARENTING FOR PEACE AND JUSTICE NETWORK

The Parenting for Peace and Justice Network is seeking contributions toward a matching "Challenge Grant" they have received, a $5000 anonymous contribution toward the Communities Creating Circles of Peace (CCCP) project.

CCCP is a community-wide effort to integrate the seven components of the Pledge of Nonviolence in which every individual in a community, as well as organizations, businesses, government offices, churches and schools is invited to create partnerships of responsibility toward creating caring, nonviolent, and safe communities.  For example, Peace Camps will be offered in the form of a summer day camp, summer resident camp, weekend camp or after school program or be integrated into a school curriculum.

Meanwhile, parents, teachers and community members are attending workshops themselves to discover how to live the Pledge of Nonviolence themselves.  Communities Creating Circles of Peace extends an invitation to communities everywhere to pull together and begin to eliminate violence in our society, one community at a time.

        A note from the Network:

We hope you will examine our alternatives to violence resources for families, schools, faith communities, and community organizations and the Families Against Violence Advocacy Network (FAVAN) we are coordinating across the US to challenge interpersonal and institutional violence.  The forms of violence we are addressing most specifically are school violence, domestic violence, hate violence, media violence, gun violence, and the violence of poverty and racism.  Our Pledge of Nonviolence (with adaptations for families, schools, youth groups, parishes and congregations, and college campuses) is proving to be an empowering way of making our very lives -- 24 hours a day, 7 days a week -- a part of the solution to violence.  Join us in this urgent effort.  Thanks and Peace.
