WHAT IS THE IPCNSR?
IPCNSR is an interfaith network of
concerned clergy and lay persons who are engaged in specialized ministries of pastoral
care/pastoral theology in some fifty countries. They are committed to cooperating with
their brother and sister specialists, across national boundaries, in using their dual
training in the theological and psychological disciplines, to help save God's creation,
our precious planet, from ecological disaster, epidemic violence, over population and
dehumanizing poverty and oppression. They build communication bridges, exchange news and
views through a quarterly newsletter, hold theory-building conferences periodically,
explore the spiritual roots of violence against people and the biosphere, and engage in
collaborative action to contribute to a positive, justice-based future for all members of
the human family.
The countries represented on the Governing Board include: Argentina, Australia, Austria,
Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Cameroon, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Cuba, Czechoslovakia,
England, Ecuador, Fiji, Finland, Germany, Ghana, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Indonesia,
Italy, Japan, Kenya, Mexico, Namibia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Nigeria,
Norway, Papua New Guinea, Paraguay, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Scotland, South Africa,
South Korea, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Taiwan, Tanzania, Tonga, USA, USSR,
Zaire. It is hoped and expected that persons from other countries on all continents will
join the network.
